Since that announcement, we have determined that more time is needed to fully evaluate the many legal complexities surrounding recent court decisions and the HISA amendment enacted by Congress at the end of last year.

As previously reported Pauline’s Pearl defended her title in the Grade 3, $300,000 Houston Ladies Classic with Scarlet Fusion taking the Grade 3, $200,000 John B. Connally Turf Cup. There was also plenty of talent earlier on the card in both of the stakes for accredited Texas-breds.

The Houston Racing Festival had two quality turf stakes to be run on the Connally Turf Course. Officials took the fourth race off the turf and fortunately, both the Grade 3, $200,000 John B. Connally Turf Cup and $100,000 Bob Bork Texas Turf Mile remained on the turf.
