Statement from Sam Houston Race Park

span style="caret-color:#000000">span style="font-variant-caps:normal">span style="letter-spacing:normal">span style="text-transform:none">span style="widows:auto">span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust:auto">Sam Houston Race Park previously announced that interstate simulcast wagering would resume at all locations today, February 3, 2023.  Since that announcement, we have determined that more time is needed to fully evaluate the many legal complexities surrounding recent court decisions and the HISA amendment enacted by Congress at the end of last year.

HOUSTON, TX-  Sam Houston Race Park hosted its annual Houston Racing Festival program on Saturday, January 28. As previously reported Pauline’s Pearl defended her title in the Grade 3, $300,000 Houston Ladies Classic with Scarlet Fusion taking the Grade 3, $200,000 John B. Connally Turf Cup. There was also plenty of talent earlier on the card in both of the stakes for accredited Texas-breds.

HOUSTON, TX- There were some anxious moments Saturday morning at Sam Houston Race Park when the rain fell heavily . The Houston Racing Festival had two quality turf stakes to be run on the Connally Turf Course. Officials took the fourth race off the turf and fortunately, both the Grade 3, $200,000 John B. Connally Turf Cup and $100,000 Bob Bork Texas Turf Mile remained on the turf.

HOUSTON, TX- The Houston Racing Festival will take place on Saturday, January 28 with five stakes, highlighted by the Grade 3, $300,000 Houston Ladies Classic. The second graded stakes, the Grade 3$200,000 John B. Connally Turf Cup, attracted 12 turf specialists, including 2021 champion Spooky Channel and last year’s winner Another Mystery. Post time for the ten-race program is 1:00 pm (CT).
