HOUSTON, TX- The excitement is building for the Houston Racing Festival on Sunday, January 26 at Sam Houston Race Park. A special post time of 1:20 pm (CT) has been set for the marquee day of the 2020 Thoroughbred meet with six featured stakes. As previously reported, two graded stakes will be contested, the Grade 3, $300,000 Houston Ladies Classic and the Grade 3, $200,000 John B. Connally Turf.

Grade 1 Winner Street Band to Ship in for the January 26 Stakes

HOUSTON, TX- It's hard to keep trainer Larry Jones out of the Sam Houston Race Park winner's circle. The affable Kentucky horseman has won two previous editions of the Grade 3, $300,000 Houston Ladies Classic, beginning with Joyful Victory, who captured the inaugural running in 2013 and Cassatt in 2015. Both mares were owned by Rick Porter’s Fox Hill Farms.

HOUSTON, TX— Sam Houston Race Park (www.shrp.com) prepares to kick off its 26th Season of Live Racing with the opening of the 2020 Thoroughbred Meet on January 10th.  The Thoroughbred Meet will consist of 39 live racing days spanning from January 10th to March 28th.  The Thoroughbred Meet has been extended by seven additional days of racing with a whole new purse structure after the passing of House Bill 2463.
