ABOUT THE BANDS

From pubs to arenas, from dance halls to county fairs, the name Kevin Fowler always means a full house and cheering crowds. With his mixture of southern rock and country music Kevin Fowler has been entertaining crowds for over a decade. The Amarillo native puts on live shows that incorporate the usual trappings of a big rock ’n’ roll show with atmospheric smoke, bright colored lights and elaborate staging. With some of his honky-tonk anthems such as Beer, Bait, and Ammo, The Lord Loves a Drinking Man and Loose, Loud and Crazy there is no question why Kevin Fowler is one of the most beloved artists in Texas. 100.3 KILT is proud to present Kevin Fowler on Saturday, July 10.

Over 50 years ago, Larry, Steve, and Rudy Gatlin, collective known as Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, started singing in their hometown of Abilene, Texas, and from there went on to make music history.  Over the course of a four-decade career that has taken the Gatlin Brothers from dusty Texas stages to White House performances, from Broadway to Grammy Awards to the top of the country charts, there has been one unifying element, music. There's no harmony quite as pure as family harmony. The band has solidified their place as one of country music’s most notable acts and at this stage, the Gatlins’ have the best of both worlds—families and fans, plenty of work both as individuals and together.  The Showgrounds welcomes this classic country acts on Saturday, July 17.

Country superstar Rodney Atkins signed on Curb Records and released two Top 40 singles in 2002. In 2003, the single “Honesty (Write Me a List)” climbed into the Top 5, and Curb finally released his debut album, Honesty. However, his real breakthrough came in 2006 when his catchy single, “If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows),” gradually climbed to all the way to No. 1 on Billboard's country airplay chart and eventually was named Billboard Magazine’s country song of the year. The new 93Q welcomes Rodney Atkins to The Showgrounds on Saturday, July 24.
Georgia native Luke Bryan has been impressing audiences with his own style of music and songwriting since his mother gave him his first guitar at the age of 14. Bryan got his start in Nashville writing songs for country starts such as Travis Tritt and Billy Currington. His debut album “I’ll Stay Me” was released on Capitol Records in 2007 with chart singles “We Rode in Trucks” and “Country Man” and Top 5 single “All My Friends Say.” The New 93Q is happy to present Luke Bryan on Saturday, July 31.

For more than a decade, Roger Creager built a reputation on his distinctive brand of hard-core, rabble-rousing Texas Country music, on his rich, full-bodied voice that can carry a tune for miles, and on his exceptional ability to work thousands of Texans into a rabid frenzy with his voice and guitar, in the great concert tradition of Jerry Jeff Walker and Robert Earl Keen.  In 1998, he released Having Fun, then blew open the doors two years later with I Got the Guns. The title track, a striking piece about his granddad and his family, became a staple on more than 200 radio stations programming Texas Country music.

Named after a 19th century Australian bank robber the Austin-based roots-rockers Reckless Kelly is known for the integrity of their musical approach, the hard-core energy of their live shows and the fierce loyalty of their fans. The respect they've earned from everyone from Steve Earle to Kevin Welch can be summarized by Joe Ely, who called them “my kind of band: hell-raising, hard-playing, kick-ass songwriting, feet firmly in the present, but with an amazing knowledge of where it has all come from.” Roger Creager and Reckless Kelly will take the stage on Saturday, August 7 in a concert events presented by 100.3 KILT.
