26th RUNNING OF THE BREEDERS’ CUP CHAMPIONSHIPS SIMULCAST EVENT

$25.5 Million in Purse Money on the Line for Thoroughbred Racing’s Richest Event Taking Place Via Simulcast at The Park on

WHAT: Sam Houston Race Park (www.shrp.com) will celebrate the 26th Annual Running of the Breeders’ Cup Championships on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7, 2009. The weekend of live racing action will feature 14 races and $25.5 million in purse money, making this Thoroughbred racing’s richest event of the year. The Park will simulcast races from the two day event from Santa Anita Park on more than 1,400 televisions.
The Park will offer “Early Bird” drive-up wagering at the valet circle on Friday from7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. as well as continue with advance wagering throughout the day.
To celebrate opening day of the Breeders’ Cup, The Park will offer $3 draft beer throughout the day, as well as $2 margaritas on Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday at 12:30 p.m., join ESPN personality Fred Faour, DRF/NTRA handicapping contest winner Nick Tammaro and The Park’s Players’ Services consultant Paul Maciekowich for a FREE handicapping seminar on the Paddock Level in the Rookie Room prior to the first post from Santa Anita Park.
Ticket packages for Saturday’s events start at $19 per person and includes admission, reserved counter seat on the Club Level, simulcast racing program, tip sheet, burger basket, 2 small beers or sodas and a $2 wagering coupon.
