SEPTEMBER MARKS CLOSE OF LIVE RACING AND CONCERTS AT SAM HOUSTON RACE PARK

Final Weeks of Live Quarter Horse Racing, Verizon Wireless Concert Series and Fan Appreciation Celebration Set for September 2008

 

WHAT:           Sam Houston Race Park (www.shrp.com) marks the end of an exciting summer of live racing and live music events as The Park features live American Quarter Horse racing every Friday and Saturday night through September 13, 2008, along with top-graded stakes races including the Blue Bonnet Stakes, the Sam Houston Futurity (G1), the Sam Houston Derby (G2) and the TQHA Claiming Futurity.

In addition, The Showgrounds (www.theshowgrounds.com) will close its inaugural concert season with performances from Jack Ingram and Shooter Jennings, the final artists of the Verizon Wireless post-race concert series on the Bud Light stage.   

To celebrate a successful live racing and concert season, The Park will host Fan Appreciation Week with specials, events, contests and more beginning Monday, September 1 through Saturday, September 6, 2008.
