SAM HOUSTON RACE PARK PRESENTSTHE DAILY RACING FORM/NTRA
NATIONAL HANDICAPPING CHAMPIONSHIP
QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT
Entry Form
MAY 17, 2008 – Contest #1
Welcome! Thank you for participating in a qualifying tournament for the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship. This year-long program has been constructed to provide both new and experienced horseplayers with a fun and inexpensive way to qualify for the finals and to reward those participants who are adept at picking winners.
This qualifying tournament rewards the first place finisher with entry to the Championship tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. A player may NOT qualify more than once and only one entry per person will be accepted for the Championship. While the qualifying tournament has been designed to be simple, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations. What you don’t know CAN hurt you and may lead to disqualification. We don’t want you to be disqualified over an avoidable mistake. So, please read these rules carefully. Contestants can register and receive all rules at the Players Lounge Front Desk. If you have a question or are uncertain about one of the rules, please consult a Sam Houston Race Park Official. GOOD LUCK!

WAGERING PROCEDURE
Please read this section carefully. Failure to abide by any and all contest rules may result in disqualification.
All players are responsible for ensuring each mythical wager is placed. Contestants will each receive a “Contest Player Card”. This card will allow all contestants to place 15 mythical $2 win wagers and 15 $2 place wagers in specific Autotote machines that will be labeled and available for contestants. All wagers are tracked through the Autotote system and will be final. All wagers can be made right up to post but failure to get in by post time in a Mandatory race will leave the contestant with one less race and they will be deducted for their MANDATORY $2 win and $2 place bet ($4 total). Also, it is the player’s responsibility to make any late changes in case of a late scratch. If the Player’s selection scratches in a MANDATORY race and no replacement wager is placed prior to post-time, the Player shall be assigned the official tote board favorite as determined by the host racetrack.
If there should be a late scratch in a player selection race and the wager is not canceled the account will be credited the $4 and the player will be able to simply use another available runner or another race.
IT IS THE PLAYER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE ALL BETS ARE MADE BEFORE AND ARE REGISTERED BY THE START OF EACH RACE. PLEASE ALLOW YOURSELF AMPLE TIME TO GET IN YOUR BETS.
PLEASE PAY EXTRA CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE MANDATORY RACES FOR LATE SCRATCHES! FAILURE TO MAKE CHANGES WILL COST YOU IN THE MANDATORY RACES!
Contest Cards may only be used in specific Autotote machines that will be labeled and designated for the contest. Tellers will not be allowed to make contest wagers on your card for you. Contest machines are for the contest only. Machines will not accept regular vouchers or money.
If any races from participating racetracks should be canceled the winner will be determined by total money on the races to that point and any remaining races that might still be available. Sam Houston Race Park has the right to cancel or change any races or tracks in the contest. Be sure to watch tracks closely for serious weather that may lead to any cancellations.
ENTRY PROCEDURE
Participants may select and mythically wager on only one horse per race. Payoffs are based on a mythical $2 win and $2 place wager on the 15 different races. Eight races will be designated as MANDATORY by Sam Houston Race Park officials. Participants must wager on these selected races. Official program numbers must be used when placing all wagers. The MANDATORY races will be available by 5:00pm on Thursday, May 15, 2008.
The remaining 7 races will be picked by the Participants from same designated contest racetracks listed above.
*Deadline for Participants**
Participants will be allowed to select and wager on any 7 races from the selected contest tracks stated above. All participant selection races must be completed by the last race at the last contest track running. Multiple wagers on different horses in any one race are prohibited.
Failure to abide by these rules may also be grounds for disqualification.
Qualifying Tournament wagers are limited to WIN and PLACE only. There is a CAP placed on ALL PAYOFFS. The WIN cap is 20/1($42.00). The PLACE cap is 10/1($22.00). Our machines will not cap payoffs, therefore some totals might be changed by a Sam Houston Race Park official.
