JANUARY 24, 2015:
Sam Houston Race Park has announced the return of the richest stakes race in the entire state of Texas. The $400,000 Houston Ladies Classic, a race for Fillies and Mares, four-years-old and up will be contested at a distance of one and one-sixteenth miles over the nationally renowned main track at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, January 24, 2015.

The Houston Ladies Classic will highlight a premium day of stakes races also featuring:
The $200,000 Grade III John B. Connally Turf Cup: four- year-olds and upward at one and one eighth miles on the Connally Turf Course.
The $75,000 Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint: four-year-olds and upward at five furlongs on the Connally Turf Course.
The $50,000 Allen’s Landing Stakes: three-year-olds at six furlongs on the main track.

SHIP ASSISTANCE INCENTIVE PROGRAM:
In celebration of this historic day in racing, we are pleased to offer Owners the Ship Assist Incentive Program. The Sam Houston Race Park Ship Assist Incentive Program is designed to encourage owners shipping a horse for the Houston Ladies Classic to also consider shipping horses for the Connally Turf Cup, Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint and Allen’s Landing stakes races. For any Owner starting a Filly or Mare in the Houston Ladies’ Classic and at least one additional horse in one of the accompanying stakes races, Sam Houston Race Park will pay up to the original entry fee of $2000.
