Sam Houston Race Park, located in northwest Houston, opened as the first Class 1 racetrack in Texas on April 24, 1994.
The Houston racetrack hosts two live race meets annually; Thoroughbred racing each November - March and American Quarter Horses from the end of June through September. In addition, Sam Houston Race Park offers a comprehensive simulcasting program 364 days each year in its grandstand and Player’s Lounge. Racing fans can watch and wager on races across the country and from international racetracks including Australia and Hong Kong.
The state-of-the-art facility offers a variety of dining and entertainment amenities including the Winner’s Circle Restaurant and Jockey Club as well as 19 luxury suites ideal for entertaining. The Pavilion Centre is available for trade shows, business expos and large group events.
